For the work done so far, I have used all my personal hand and power tools. It is true that Earthbag building needs very simple tools, but we still need to have all the proper tools to do a high quality work in the communities. We need to buy, fix and replace all the tools that go kaput.
Most of the tools can be bought in town, but there are a few items that you can bring with you if you so wish. You could also make a donation for a specific tool. The ones in bold are the most needed. There a few tools that we need to bring from Tuxtla or Mexico City, Please, contact us if you want to know more details.
Good quality tools are essential. It is far better to have just one good quality tool at hand than two cheap-low quality pieces of "problems".
Good quality hammers
Good quality work gloves
Heavy duty latex gloves
Good quality drill bits for wood, metal, and concrete (smaller bits are great, because they break more often)
Good quality chisels
Cordless power drill, 14 V. Makita or Bosh.
10" Minor Saw
Decent pens, whiteboard and Sharpie markers
Epson Stylus TX 110 black Ink cartridges
USB thumb drives
A digital camera (second hand is fine!)
External hard drives
Laptops for the office (again, second hand is great!)
